South East Creative Economy Network

SECEN is the voice, champion and connector for the creative, digital and cultural sector of Greater Essex, Medway, Kent and East Sussex attracting investment to boost growth and place-based sector development.

The Creative Industries in the South East contribute approximately £4.6 billion to the regions economy and employ over 60,000 people. Larger than the Creative Industries of Wales and similar in size to Scotland, the SECEN area is a major contributor to the national creative economy, which generates £124bn per year.

SECEN is a working partnership between creative businesses, organisations and people, local authorities, and education bodies. Anyone working within the sector in the region is welcome to join.

As the Create South East programme comes to a close, we also welcome businesses, organisations and people working in the creative, digital and cultural sector in West Sussex and Brighton and Hove to join us.

What to expect:

SECEN membership connects individuals and organisations across the South East’s creative & digital industries and cultural sector offering advocacy, networking and access to opportunities. Members actively contribute to influencing strategic decisions that drive growth of the sector in our region.

  • Quarterly newsletter with funding opportunities, events, member showcasing, policy updates.
  • Email updates of opportunities where deadlines fall outside the quarterly newsletter timeline
  • Bi-annual membership meetings
